IndigE-girl Comedy presents The Aunties Who Stole Christmas on December 12 at China Cloud Studios and December 14 at the Fox Cabaret

 

INDIGE-GIRL COMEDY’S The Aunties Who Stole Christmas is coming to Vancouver with two dates: a workshop performance on December 12 at China Cloud Studios and a professional showcase on December 14 at the Fox Cabaret.

The December 12 workshop shines a light on emerging Indigenous comedians—Chrissy Alec, Morgan Jacko, Jeska Slater, Kenidy Crouter, Michele Buckman, and Nyla Bedard—offering them a chance to perform in front of a live audience. The December 14 professional show features a lineup of renowned Indigenous comedians, including Crystal Asham, Alana Obey, Kaitlynn Brightnose, Debbie Courchene (the founder of IndigE-girl Comedy), Annie Brass, and Dakota Ray Hebert.

The December 12 production is hosted by Courchene; the December 14 event is hosted by Savannah Erasmus. The December 14 performance will also be available via livestream for those who can’t attend in person. Both shows are for ages 19 and up.

IndigE-girl Comedy is a platform that celebrates Indigenous and 2SLGBTQIA+ comedians with a focus on uplifting voices that are often marginalized in mainstream comedy.
