Vancouver Bach Family of Choirs presents SpringSong: Flora & Fauna by the Vancouver Bach Children’s Choirs on March 11 at 7 pm at Pacific Spirit United Church
NATURE IS THE inspiration behind the programming for the next concert by the Vancouver Bach Children’s Choirs.
SpringSong: Flora & Fauna is an evening of music about animals and all living things.
Among the pieces to be performed is the “Bee-Bop” song from The Bee Musical and “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” from The Lion King.
“Ombra mai fu” is an aria by Handel about the healing and comfort that the forest can provide, while the “Flower Duet” is a work for soprano and mezzo-soprano in the first act of the tragic opera Lakmé.
Then, among other titles, there is J.S. Bach’s aria “Mein gläubiges Herze” (My trusting heart, exult, sing, and be merry).
The tribute to Mother Nature showcases singers of the Vancouver Bach Children’s Choirs—including Toccatas, Partitas, Chorales, and Chorus. Led by conductors Marisa Gaetanne and Catherine Campolin, the evening also features piano accompaniment by Kin Ming Wong and Jeon Mok.
