Montreal's Kara-Lis Coverdale plays pipe organ in Vancouver New Music concert, February 22

Evening features an opening set by Immix, the new solo project of Vancouver-based music artist Robyn Jacob

Vancouver New Music presents Montreal-based musician and composer Kara-Lis Coverdale at Pacific Spirit United Church on February 22 at 8 pm. A post-show artist talk takes place at 9:30 pm.

A former artist-in-residence at Groupe de Recherches Musicales in Paris and Elektronmusikstudion in Stockholm, Coverdale creates immersive and layered compositions within unique sonic landscapes. Her most recent release, the three-part work Grafts, highlights her distinct approach to digital-based ratio tuning. In this concert, she will be performing new work on the Pacific Spirit United Church’s magnificent Casavant Frères pipe organ, the largest of its kind in the city.

The evening will begin with an opening set from Immix, a new solo project by Vancouver-based music artist Robyn Jacob. Her sonic experimentations incorporate both the natural and synthesized voice using a vocal harmonizer, MIDI keyboard, and pipe organ.
