The Cinematheque is hosting Tsui Hark: Everything Is Unreal, a series revolving around eight works by the Hong Kong filmmaker, from July 10 to August 3. Many of Tsui’s films will screen from recent restorations, including Green Snake on opening night (a nod to the fact that 2025 is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac).

On July 24, the Chinese Canadian Museum will co-present a screening of Once Upon a Time in China II in conjunction with its exhibition Dream Factory: Cantopop Mandopop 1980s–2000. The film will be followed by a special conversation between Richard Yuen, legendary composer of Once Upon a Time in China II, and Melissa Karmen Lee, CEO of the Chinese Canadian Museum.

The other influential titles in store include Working Class, Shanghai Blues, The Chinese Feast, The Blade, Peking Opera Blues, and Once Upon a Time in China.

Tickets are available through The Cinematheque.
