North Van Arts hosts annual Anonymous Art Show fundraiser, November 23 to December 15

Hundreds of pieces will be for sale online and at CityScape Community ArtSpace, with each artist’s name remaining anonymous until after their work is purchased

North Van Arts is launching its annual Anonymous Art Show, a group exhibition and fundraising event that showcases both emerging and established artists, at CityScape Community ArtSpace on November 23 at 11 am.

The magic of the Anonymous Art Show is that each artist remains anonymous until after their work has sold. Participating artists are required to sign only the back of the canvas to keep their identities unknown. Once a painting is purchased, it is removed from the wall and replaced with a “sold” tag, and the name of the artist who created it is revealed.

An exhibition will be installed at CityScape Community ArtSpace, where guests can view hundreds of 8 x 8-inch pieces for sale at just $100 each. All artwork will also be available to browse and purchase online through the North Van Arts website.

Before sales begin, a special preview reception of the artwork will take place at the CityScape gallery on November 23 from 12 pm to 4 pm, featuring music, mimosas, and pastries. Additional preview times will be held on November 24, 27, and 28 from 11 am to 5 pm.

 
 

Anonymous Art Show sales will officially begin online as of November 28 at 7 pm, and in-person purchases can also be made at CityScape from November 29 until December 15 at 5pm. It is strongly recommended that artwork is purchased online through the dedicated sale site for the best chance of securing top picks before they’re gone.

Proceeds from the Anonymous Art Show are split evenly between the artists and North Van Arts, where it will enhance community programming. For folks who are unable to purchase art from the show at this time, but would still like to support North Van Arts, donations of any amount can be made on the organization’s website. Monetary donations of over $20 will receive a tax receipt.
