Interior Design Show peers into the future at Vancouver Convention Centre, to September 29

Everything from AI in design to future colour trends are on the IDS Vancouver program

IDS Vancouver starts with an opening night party at the Vancouver Convention Centre, West building on September 26 from 7 to 10 pm. A professional trade day takes place on September 27 from 9 am to 6 pm, and public days take place September 28 and 29 from 10 am to 5 pm.

 

A DIALOGUE EXPLORING the evolving relationship between humans and AI within the realm of design; a café and bar accessed through a forest of recycled wood; and a colour forecast for 2025: These are all just some of the offerings at this year’s Interior Design Show, running to September 29 at Vancouver Convention Centre West.

Attendees will be able to walk through a “future neighbourhood”, an immersive installation where AI enhances people’s connection to nature; check out BonBon Lounge, made up of a lightweight, modular, and recyclable furniture system composed of colourful, nesting blocks that can be stacked and arranged into various configurations; and hit Studio North, where local and international designers will present one-off and custom collections of furniture, lighting, glass, ceramics, textiles, and surface design in a gallery-like setting.

Seminars hit on topics such as integrating accessibility in design, building pride through art and architecture, and community-building through sensory design.
