Festival of Israeli Culture holds Outdoor Sunday street party, May 15

Multi-ethnic celebration to feature music, dance, art, food, and more

Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver presents Outdoor Sunday of the Festival of Israeli Culture on May 15 from 11 am to 6 pm at the JCCGV (950 West 41st Avenue)

MUSIC, DANCE, ART, and food are all part of Outdoor Sunday, which gives people a chance to discover and celebrate the multi-ethnic nature of Israeli culture. The theme of this year’s day-long event is Cultural Crossroads.

The Sam Rocha Trio headlines the event with its mix of folk, roots, and R&B music. Other performers include jazz vocalist Andrea Superstein; the Choir in Hebrew; dance troupes; and ShowStoppers, Perry Erlich’s energetic GLEE-inspired ensemble.

The Art Fair showcases works by local craftspeople such as Art of Pottery’s Magdalena and Marcin Zmudzinski artist Maxine Woodman. There’s a film screening in Hebrew, a lecture by former journalist Yaron Deckel, kids’ activities, and more.

All events are free of charge, with donations to the Jewish Food Bank welcome. More information is at www.israelifestival.com.
