Buddy Guy cancels appearance at 2022 TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival

The blues legend announces he’s unable to leave the U.S. due to a recent medical condition

IT’S DEVASTATING NEWS for local fans of one of the world’s most important blues artists and for the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival: Buddy Guy has announced that his upcoming performance here has been cancelled.

Upon the direction of his health-care team, the 84-year-old Louisiana-born legend is unable to leave the United States for the foreseeable future due to a recent medical condition.

Guy had been scheduled to play the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on June 24.

Damn right, we’ve got the blues.

“Buddy wishes his Canadian fans the very best and looks forward to performing for them again soon,” a Jazz Fest release states.

Buddy Guy ticket holders will receive a full refund in three to five business days for the cost of their tickets (including fees and taxes).
